Backup & One-Click Recovery | LAN Services

Tested, immutable backups with rapid recovery — so a ransomware attack, hardware failure, or accidental deletion doesn’t take you down.

Most firms have “backups” but never test them. When the moment comes — and for accounting firms it’s usually mid-tax-season — they discover the backup hasn’t run for weeks, or the recovery takes four days, or ransomware has encrypted the backup too. We fix that with backups that are tested monthly, stored offsite and immutable, and can be restored in minutes instead of days.

The Problem We Solve

If any of this looks familiar, you’re not alone — but you don’t have to keep living with it.

🗄️

Backups that quietly stop working

A backup job fails on Tuesday and nobody notices until Friday’s restore attempt. By then there’s a six-day gap.

🔒

Ransomware that encrypts your backup too

Modern ransomware looks for backups specifically. Without immutable, offsite copies, paying the ransom becomes the only option.

Recovery times measured in days

When recovery means “reinstall everything from scratch and hope,” you’re out of business for a week. That’s a deal-killer during deadline season.

📂

Cloud apps you assume are backed up

Microsoft and Google don’t back up your data the way you think. Deleted email, lost OneDrive files, and corrupted SharePoint sites are your problem, not theirs.

How We Deliver It

We design and run a backup system that covers every place your data lives — local servers, workstations, Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace, QuickBooks files, Xero, document management systems — and we test it every single month so you know it works before you need it.

What’s included

Server and virtual machine backup
Workstation file-level backup
Microsoft 365 backup (Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams)
Google Workspace backup
QuickBooks file and database backup
Document management system backup (Canopy, etc.)
Immutable, tamper-proof storage
Offsite encrypted replication
Monthly restore testing and reporting
Ransomware-resistant backup chain
Bare-metal and virtualized recovery
Documented recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO)

What Changes for You

Be back up in minutes, not days

Critical systems are recoverable to a virtualized failover in under an hour.

Ransomware loses its leverage

If your backups can’t be encrypted, the ransom note loses its power.

Insurance and audit friendly

Cyber insurance carriers increasingly require tested backups with documented RTO/RPO. We give you both.

< 1 hour

Recovery time objective on critical systems. Some firms measure recovery in days. We measure it in minutes.

Frequently Asked

How often are backups tested?

Monthly, at minimum. Critical systems weekly. Every test produces a report you can hand to your insurer or auditor.

Where is the data stored?

Your data is encrypted, replicated to two geographically separate data centers, and stored in immutable form so it can’t be altered or deleted by ransomware.

How long are backups kept?

Standard retention is 90 days for daily backups, 12 months for monthly backups, and 7 years for annual archive snapshots — tunable to your industry and policy needs.

Does this replace what Microsoft/Google does?

It complements it. Microsoft and Google protect against their own infrastructure failures. They don’t protect you against accidental deletion, ransomware, or compromised admin accounts. We do.
